Ramil Nazifovich Bakhtizin was born in Ufa in 1955. He has finished the faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of Leningrad State University (nowadays it is Saint Petersburg State University) with the specialisation in Mathematics. In 1983 he finished his post graduate studies and in 1992 he finished doctorate courses of Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Gas named after M.Azizbekov. He has been a Doctor of physics and mathematics since 1992. In 1994 he became a professor and in 1998 he became a correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
The main field of his scientific activities is the use of mathematical methods in such spheres as: oil and gas recovery processes, oil and gas transportation, oil refinery and oil and gas industry economics.
After finishing the university he was assigned to work at Ufa Oil Institute (which became Ufa State Petroleum Technological University in 1993), where he began his career first as an engineer of the department of mathematics, then working as a teacher, a senior teacher and as an assistant professor after finishing his post-graduate studies.
In 1995 he organized the department of mathematical modeling and has been the head of this department since the moment of its organization He was one of the main organizers of the department of 'Mathematical methods used in economics'. Since 1999 up to 2001 he combined the work of the head of the department of mathematical modeling with the work of the head of the department of economics. Since 2001 he has been working as the vice rector of the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University on academic policy.
He has developed the system of methods of decision-making in the sphere of oil and gas recovery based on the results of his research of the heat and mass transition processes and inverse problems.
In 2003 he became a member of the Department of Oil and Gas of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
In 1985 he won the Bashkir Komsomol Prize in science and techniques for his works on hydrodynamics of rheologically complicated media.
In 1998 he was awarded the title of 'the Honored worker of Gas Industry'.
In 2001 he got the title of the 'Honored Scientist of Bashkortostan'.
